The Road to Retirement

A day in the life as a Trailer Park Landlord. My wife and I just purchased a trailer park. I thought I would create a blog to share some of our "adventurers" with everyone.

The Floozy Eviction

Well, It's been awhile since I posted a blog. It's not because of lack of material. I have pretty busy lately.

We have been serving evictions left and right. One I should mention is the eviction of "rumoured to be" floozy. This girl is rumoured to be sleeping with some of the other tenants to pay her rent. She got a couple of weeks behind so we served her with an eviction.

I was in another unit doing some remodeling when I heard a knock at the door. It was her. She gave me a sob story about how she is trying to get her kids back from DSS. Her case worker heard about the eviction and claimed that she couldn't have her kids back if she wasn't stable. She claims she didn't understand why she was being evicted. I told her to bring me her receipts and we would sit down and I would show her where and when she didn't pay. Needless to say that sit down never happened.

After about a week she told my manager that she had the money and would be over to pay it the next day. She never showed. We heard that she got arrested for writing bad checks and had to use the rent money to settle out the bad checks. Well she got served the 24 hr set out notice. She showed up at the manager's place to pay by......

(yes, you guessed it) BY CHECK!! He refused it and said she had to pay cash. Well, she didn't pay and she moved her stuff out. This was on a Tuesday morning.

The next Sunday we find out she was sneaking in and sleeping in her trailer at night. She had a big party and the cops came out about 3:00 in the morning. My manager went down Sunday and found that some of her stuff was back!! He promptly screwed all the doors shut.

Monday morning she showed up and tried to get in. She had to call my manager and beg for her stuff. He told her to get it and never come back. I hope she doesn't come back to visit her "friends"?

This is a story I haven't heard before. That day and Dad and I were there, we saw a couple of young girls. I said to Dad, "Holy Toledo! They look like hookers!"
