The Road to Retirement

A day in the life as a Trailer Park Landlord. My wife and I just purchased a trailer park. I thought I would create a blog to share some of our "adventurers" with everyone.

Saturday Birthday Party

Saturday night was another night of parties and loud music. It was someone's birthday party. The police had to come and settle things down. I was told they were racing around the trailer park. I knew something had gone on when I arrived Sunday afternoon. The tenants yard was covered in beer cans, cups, bottles and boxes. A quick call to the manager confirmed my suspicions. I had a stern talk with the tenant. Next time it happens he is going to be evicted. I have a feeling we are going to have "clean house". I may stop giving a warning and have a zero tolerance policy. If the police are called to your house for disturbing the neighbors then you are automatically getting evicted. There are a few we may just get rid. I found out one tenant has a police scanner. When a call comes about the trailer park she alerts everyone that the sheriff is on their way. She may be the first to go.

I had a guy approach me Sunday about renting a trailer. He said he just got of jail and needed a place to stay. He wanted me to lower the rents to help him out. He isn't able to work and gets a disability check. He told me he isn't able to work because he is schizophrenic. Phew!!! Luckily I don't have any trailers available!
